Halo Combat Evolved : The Story Behind It Part 1

Halo Combat Evolved was the first Halo game which was released. It greatly increased the popularity of the Xbox, whose success is attributed to the game. Anyways, why don’t we go into the story, shall we?

The game begins right after the Halo Reach storyline where the Noble team perishes. Captain Keyes initiates a protocol called the Cole Protocol which prevents the covenant from landing on Earth. The last Spartan II, Master Chief or John 117, is then released from Cryo and tests are done to see if his vital signs are normal. He is then told to meet Captain Keyes on the bridge where he briefs him on the situation. He then fights on the ship and eventually escapes from the Pillar of Autumn via an escape pod.

The Master Chief crash lands on the mysterious ring planet called Halo. Only he survives the crash while the marines perish. His first task is to find other marines who have survived the crash. He finds a couple of survivors and his task is to save them. He spends time battling the covenant. After rescuing as many marines as he can. He then gets news that Captain Keyes has been kidnapped by the Covenant and the Chief’s task is to go and save him. He enters a Pelicon, which is a transport ship, and moves to Keyes location.

The Chief then fights waves of aliens on the ground and gets on to the Truth and Reconciliation using a gravity lift. He fights aliens on the ship and go’s to the lockup where Keyes is. He saves Keyes and they escape using a dropship.

Xbox 720 and Playstation 4 a solution to revive the dying industry??

2013 is a much anticipated year for the video game industry. We already have Nintendo who released the Wii U and now it’s Microsoft and Sony’s turn to release their console refresh’s. With the video game industry seeing a downfall as a result of tablets like the iPad which are capable of gaming, these companies are going to have to do an extraordinary job to bring back the dazzle to video game consoles. Lets see what we can expect from the new consoles.

As of now, not much is known about the Xbox 720. Rumors have spread that it will come with a dual core GPU and 8 gigabyte of memory. It will probably feature a complete redesign in terms of appearance of the console as well.

The Playstation 4 is rumored to be powered by a top end x64 Amd processor, 8 gigabytes of memory and a 256 gigabyte hard drive. These are still the early days and none of the above data can be confirmed to be true.

The Wii U, which has already been released and seems to be selling pretty well. The Wii U CPU clocks at 1.24 GHz and has 3 cores. The GPU clocks at around 550 MHz.

2013 will be a fun year to see which game console wins the war!
